We are so inspired by our 2024 Annual Meeting.  The night’s theme – 50 Years of Impact – was a testament to our unwavering commitment to our clients and our community. We are proud to be an organization that provides support and care to those in need, regardless of their background or circumstance.

The evening showcased some of our more notable accomplishments of the past year. Together they exemplify how we are innovative and a recognized leader in addressing the ever-changing and growing needs of our community. We also are continuously looking ahead to see how we can expand our reach and our impact and look forward to a few exciting initiatives that are on the horizon.

We installed our new Board of Directors and recognized several dedicated volunteers for their outstanding service. We thank all who helped make the evening possible, including our sponsor MarshMcLennan. Thank you to Temple Israel of Palm Beach for hosting us in their beautiful synagogue. We also thank the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County for their partnership.

In this email, you will find some key takeaways from our meeting.

Finally, thank you for your dedication and commitment to our agency.

Key Takeaways:

  • On October 3, Alpert JFS was awarded the “7th Annual Hats Off Nonprofit of the Year Award – Large Category”.
  • In response to the horrific attacks on Israel on October 7th, Alpert JFS mobilized its resources to provide immediate support and assistance. Our dedicated team of professionals worked tirelessly to offer counseling services and outreach to promote healing and unity. We continue to pray for the safe return of our hostages and the end of antisemitism worldwide.
  • The opening in November of our Center for Belonging and Wellbeing was a significant milestone. The Center provides a supportive and enriching environment for residents of our Apartment Program and clients of our new Day program. Last month we hosted our Annual Passover Seder in the new Center. Residents and their families came together for a joyful celebration.
  • Another dream to come true is the recent opening of our Enrichment Center in Boynton Beach Co-located at Temple Shaarei Shalom, the Center is home to all of our programs as well as a new 1,500 square foot client choice food pantry where, for the first time ever, Alpert JFS will be offering fresh and frozen food!
  • A heartfelt thank you to those who joined us on Sunday, February 25, for our 20th Annual No Excuse for Abuse Evening. Over 500 people came together at the Kravis Center to celebrate the life-changing impact of our agency. We raised more than $770,000 – a record! Thank you to our outstanding co-chairs and committee. You all did a wonderful job. Please mark your calendars for next year’s 21st Annual No Excuse for Abuse Evening on Sunday, Feb 16, 2025, at the Kravis Center!
  • Our 50th Anniversary Campaign will ensure that the agency remains a hallmark of excellence in the community for the next 50 years and beyond. Please contact Kelley Whiter, J.D. at 561-713-1886 or [email protected], if you are interested in learning more about the campaign and how you can help.
  • We received a significant boost in State funding – nearly $2 million – for our Mental Health First Aid Program. With this funding we have expanded the reach of Mental Health First Aid to Broward, Miami-Dade and the greater-Tampa area. A special thank you to State Senator Lori Berman and State Representative Kim Berfield for their support. With this funding we are training more individuals in this crucial, potentially life-saving skill.
  • We believe that strong community partnerships are essential to our ability to fulfill our mission and meet the needs of those we serve. By collaborating with local agencies, businesses, and other community stakeholders, we can leverage the resources and expertise of our partners to better serve our community and make a greater impact. We look forward to growing our existing partnerships and developing new partnerships with outstanding agencies in our community. These collaborations will bring our shared expertise and skills to serve a more diverse client base throughout our community.
