The Judith and Jack Rosenberg Mentoring 4 Kids (M4K) program at Alpert JFS provides a same-gender role model for children ages 6 to 14. The free, non-sectarian program helps fill a void in a child’s life caused by the absence or loss of a significant caregiver.
We will match your child with a thoroughly screened and trained mentor who will provide guidance, support, and friendship. They will share in a wide range of community-based activities with your child and have the opportunity to attend M4K quarterly outings to meet other program participants while enjoying a day of fun and recreation such as bowling, playing mini-golf, and painting pottery.

Lyndora Frazier, MNM, MHC
It’s often said, “it takes a village to raise a child.” And nobody knows this better than Lyndora Frazier, who was recently promoted to Director of the Judith & Jack Rosenberg Mentoring 4 Kids Program at Alpert Jewish Family Service.
“There are many people from all different stages of my life who’ve mentored and inspired me to be the person I am today,” she says. “I am still in touch with many of those individuals. This is the spirit behind Mentoring 4 Kids and it drives my passion to lead the program.”

A mentor is at least 25 years old, a full-time Florida resident with a valid FL driver’s license and a car. A mentor enjoys spending time with a child while participating in fun activities in the community. The mentor is thoroughly screened and assessed, including a complete background check before being matched.
M4K serves children of all faiths and ethnicities, between ages 6-14, who are being raised in a single-parent family due to the loss of a significant caregiver. The program also provides mentors for children being raised by grandparents. M4K serves children who reside between Jupiter and Boynton Beach.
We ask the volunteer to meet with the child two-to-three times a month for a minimum of one year.
Potential mentees and mentors are matched according to gender, interests, background, demographics, and client needs.
Throughout the match, supervision and ongoing support are provided to mentors and families by clinical social workers. On-going supervision, support and training to volunteer mentors and families ensure the longevity of the match.
