WPBF 25 – Temple Israel Students Learn About Food Insecurity

Students of Temple Israel learn about Food Insecurity, an issue affecting nearly 16,000 households in the Jewish Community. Students shopped for items themselves using Publix gift cards. Recently the students and their parents visited the JFS Kosher Food Pantry in West Palm Beach. A new online survey conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic by The Harris Poll found that 17% of respondents aged 21 and over reported drinking patterns that met the survey criteria for “heavy drinking.” Of those surveyed whose responses met the criteria for heavy drinking, only 13% reported that they were undergoing treatment for their drinking at the time of the survey. Preparing for a Sweet New Year

Preparing Individuals for a Sweet New Year   This past Wednesday, August 25th, Apartment Program Residents visited the Alpert Jewish Family Service offices to assemble Rosh Hashanah Baskets for clients of our agency. Residents decorated the boxes with well-wishes for “A Good and Sweet Year”. Mentoring 4 Kids Program has “Improvised” Fun!

This past Thursday The Judith & Jack Rosenberg Mentoring 4 Kids program held one of its sponsored quarterly group activities via Zoom. Elevate Improv facilitated a fun and interactive, virtual improv class. The matches played silly warm-ups, engaging games, and comedic exercises while building connections, laughing lots, and having fun.
