Thank You for Standing with Alpert JFS to Strengthen Mental Health in Our Community
Because of your support of No Excuse for Abuse, Alpert Jewish Family Service can continue providing essential mental health care and life-stabilizing services to the most vulnerable members of our community.
On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, nearly 500 members of our community gathered at the Kravis Center for the 22nd Annual No Excuse for Abuse Evening. Together, you helped raise more than $740,000 to support the vital work of Alpert Jewish Family Service, one of Palm Beach County’s leading providers of mental health and family support services.
At Alpert JFS, mental health care is woven into every service we provide. Our programs support Holocaust survivors, older adults aging in place, children and families in crisis, and individuals experiencing isolation or mental health challenges. Through counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and ongoing care, our team helps people regain stability and rebuild their futures.
In the past year, your help has made the following impact.
7,000
Counseling sessions provided
60,000

307,980
Hours of care for 244 Holocaust survivors

This year’s Luminary Award honored Gary’s extraordinary legacy of service and leadership and Hope’s continued dedication to the mission of Alpert JFS. As Immediate Past Board Chair and President, Gary Hoffman played a transformative role in strengthening Alpert JFS’s programs and championing mental health and safety initiatives throughout Palm Beach County.
We are deeply grateful to Presenting Sponsor Zelda Mason, our event co-chairs Amy and Jeffrey Devore, Lesley Sheinberg, and Carolyn and Michael Yasuna, and the many sponsors, journal supporters, donors, and friends whose generosity made the evening possible.
The evening featured a powerful headline performance by Broadway star Mandy Gonzalez, celebrated for her roles in Hamilton, Wicked, and In the Heights. Gonzalez delivered a memorable musical program that captivated the audience and underscored the evening’s themes of resilience, strength, and hope. Mandy Gonzalez’s voice and personal story brought inspiration and depth to the evening’s mission.
