Alpert JFS gladly accepts gifts of gently used furniture and household goods. The items are sold at auction, with proceeds going directly to help support vital programs and services for families, children, and other adults in need.
You will receive an acknowledgement of your gift specifying the type and number(s) of items received. We will not assess their value. Please consult your tax advisor to determine the allowable deduction for such items. For items of significant worth, you may also wish to have the items appraised prior to giving them.

What does our organization do with donated vehicles?
Vehicles are sold through a private dealer with whom the agency has arranged to handle our vehicle sales. Proceeds from the sale are used to help support vital programs and services for families, children, and other adults in need. Occasionally, a vehicle in excellent condition may be used in one of our programs. Either way, your vehicle donation will help us provide programs and services for those most in need in our community.
Do I get a receipt for my gift?
Yes. You will receive a receipt at the time your car is contributed. This is not your final tax receipt. The initial acknowledgement will indicate your name, the year, make and model, and the condition of the vehicle you are donating.
A final acknowledgement will be mailed to you within 30 days of the sale stating the amount of gross proceeds received from your vehicle. This will be your receipt for your charitable, tax deductible car donation.
What can I claim as a deduction?
Since every situation is unique, we recommend that you consult your tax advisor to determine the allowable deduction for your particular car donation.
