Alpert Jewish Family Service Receives $100,000 Grant from State of Florida Designated for Mental Health First Aid State Senator Lori Berman and State Representative David Silvers presented a $100,000 check on behalf of the State of Florida yesterday. The money is specifically designated for Mental Health First and will cover the hiring of three new instructors responsible for training 700 participants in Mental Health First Aid. Alpert JFS selected The Lord’s Place, United Way of Palm Beach County / Mentor Center, and Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services as the local partners to provide the instructors for training. The Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County was instrumental in assisting with the acquisition of the grant.
