Our caring community of the Greater Palm Beaches knows no bounds! The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) chapter in the gated community of Valencia Shores in Boynton Beach recently opened their hearts and checkbooks to help support our Kosher Food Pantry and meal delivery services.

The initiative was spearheaded by LeeAnn Hoffman, an NCJW volunteer who delivered a total of 44 checks from community members who shared her do-good-feel-good philosophy of philanthropy.

“In this time of crisis some people don’t know where their next meal is coming from,” said Hoffman. “We wanted to be able to help get food on the table, giving them one less thing to worry about. We reached out within our community via Facebook and word-of-mouth, and are happy that we were able to help allay some worry, fear and upset among our neighbors in the county.”

The donations will go a long way in helping provide non-perishables and toiletries to our clients in need throughout our community, as well as distributing more meals from local caterers we have engaged throughout our service area to help feed our poor and elderly.

“We are grateful to the volunteers and advocates of the NCJW of Valencia Shores for their generous contribution,” said Alpert CEO Marc Hopin. “We’re proud to be one of the many worthy causes the organization helps. Together, we can nourish and assist our neighbors in their time of need.”

“Our volunteers embrace the spirit of giving back, sharing their time and talents with children, adults, seniors, and people with a disability,” said Alpert JFS Director of Volunteer Leadership Belinda Lasky. “We’re always looking for additional people who want volunteer with our agency, with several opportunities available to assist in one of our many agency programs.”
