“Feeling very blessed. I am very grateful for the agency and for your support. You did an awesome job with matching my boys with great men! They do wonderful with filling the void in my boys’ lives with just being great male figures.” –Maria, mother of M4K mentees, Kevin and Jaden.

This year, September 27th was designated “Dads Take Your Child to School Day” by The Palm Beach County School District, in collaboration with the Florida Department of Education.  Grandfathers, uncles, brothers, cousins – anyone who serves as a male role model – were encouraged to take a child to school on this day.  As we know, sometimes when there is no Dad present in a family, it can be hard to find a substitute for these types of days.  This was the case for two brothers, Kevin and Jaden.

Fortunately, for these two young boys, they are part of the Judith and Jack Rosenberg Mentoring 4 Kids Program.  Kevin is matched with Dr. Dan Kraft, a retired pediatrician.  Jaden’s mentor is Jay Small, a former physical education teacher.  The question was, would these two volunteers be available the morning of September 27th to walk Kevin and Jaden to school?  The two stepped up to this call to action with great sincerity and commitment.

This simple act of showing up on this particular day meant the world to both boys, who walked proudly with their mentors by their side. As for the mentors, they showed up eager to be there for their mentees and honored to serve as role models.  As you can see from the photos, there were huge smiles on all of their faces!

Imagine for a moment how these boys might have felt if they went to school that day without their mentor by their side. Imagine the opportunity for giving back that would have been lost if the mentors, Dan and Jay, were not a part of this program.
