Students of Temple Israel learn about Food Insecurity, an issue affecting nearly 16,000 households in the Jewish Community. Students shopped for items themselves using Publix gift cards. A new online survey conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic by The Harris Poll found that 17% of respondents aged 21 and over reported drinking patterns that met the survey criteria for “heavy drinking.” Of those surveyed whose responses met the criteria for heavy drinking, only 13% reported that they were undergoing treatment for their drinking at the time of the survey. Preparing Individuals for a Sweet New Year This past Wednesday, August 25th, Apartment Program Residents visited the Alpert Jewish Family Service offices to assemble Rosh Hashanah Baskets for clients of our agency. Residents decorated the boxes with well-wishes for “A Good and Sweet Year”.
