Discussing the Importance of Mental Health Programs in Tallahassee

February 8th was Behavioral Health Day at the State Capital. Raising more than $568,000, this year’s 19th Annual No Excuse for Abuse Evening surpassed the fundraising for any previous event in the agency’s history.

Thank you to all who joined us on Sunday, February 5, for our 19th Annual No Excuse for Abuse Evening at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. Mazel Tov to our 10th Annual No Excuse for Abuse Poster & Poetry Contest Winners

For the past ten years, the KOLOT committee (Kolot means “voices” in Hebrew), the outreach arm of the Alpert JFS Domestic Abuse program, has spearheaded an annual outreach initiative–the poster and poetry contest for Jewish students in grades K through 12 from our local schools, synagogues, and Chabads. Holocaust Survivors Enjoy Social Time, Commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day

The Alpert JFS Holocaust team, with help from Amicable Homecare, produced a beautiful Eat & Schmooze social for over 50 of our Russian and Ukrainian survivors. With the conference room fully outfitted in winter wonderland decorations, survivors sang and danced to Russian-based, live music provided by Sheila’s Music!  We also took a moment during the event to recognize International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which occurs on Friday, January 27. Shear Family Foundation Renews Support of AJFS Food Insecurity Initiatives

Alpert Jewish Family Service is pleased to announce we’ve received a second $250,000 grant from the Shear Family Foundation to help fund the expansion of our food insecurity initiatives. The funds will be used for the operations of the expanded food pantry and wraparound services we will provide at the new Alpert JFS Enrichment Center in Boynton Beach.
